IDEA DEVELOPMENT

RATIONALE AND PITCH
The first task we were asked to complete was the rationale. This really helped getting started with our final project as it was like a proposal of our inital ideas.
I made a PowerPoint presentation pitch on my music video idea for my final major project. I created this presentation on PowerPoint and by the end, I was reasonably happy with the layout and design and I matched it with the colour purple which will be the main colour for my video. This presentation included Miley Cyrus branding and research about her but the whole purpose of the presentation was to showcase my music video idea. I then had to present it to my teacher Paul on the 27th of April.
I got my PowerPoint up and talked through the slides and also played a part of the song from a clip on youtube. Paul agreed that this idea was good as he could see I had a lot of ideas and I had also filmed Amy before for my last music video so there wasn't going to be any issues. I think the presentation went alright but it could have been a lot better. After watching the video back, you could see how I was just reading word for word off of the slide and it wasn't very easy to listen to. I feel like I could have made my presentation a lot better if I had mostly put bullet points onto the slides and spoke more from my own words to sound more authentic. This has helped me understand what I need to improve on and doing presentations can help build up my confidence for later on in life when I will be needed to do them.
Mise en scene & Narrative
This is a mood board I created which includes the costumes, styles, hair and makeup, colours and examples of scenes I would like to film. This will give me a lot of inspiration when it comes to filming as I have my main ideas all put into one picture. My mood board also shows the rough storyline that I would like to put into my music video and I made a storyboard to show all the different scenes. My storyboard shows the main scenes of the narrative I would like to have in my video. In the first scene, Amy wakes up in the bath and is hungover from the night before. She gets out and receives a message from her boyfriend saying they are over and she is in shock until she realises she doesn't need him anymore. Then lip-syncing the rest of the song which is about not needing to be loved by someone and not belonging to anyone. She is then free and independent The scenes where she is performing shows her new confidence in herself and she doesn't care about the past.

Video Planning
Me and Amy agreed to film over the course of two days. Here are our messages below between each other agreeing on times and dates. Amy was available Thursday and Friday which were days that I was free as well. On Thursday we filmed half of our video and then Friday the other half. Thursday went a lot better as I had a very good plan for the first part but not very detailed for the last part. We started filming 5 out of 9 scenes around midday and finished at about 3pm. the second half took longer as we had to travel to an outside location instead of filming inside the house. This half of the video took longer as well as I didn't have as many shots planned so I had to freestyle and decide on the spot what I thought looked the best. I filmed tons of different angles and shots to be able to have more than enough footage to choose from.
